Kate Gosselin’s next media venture could be aptly called “Kate Plus 5,400.” The TLC reality TV star is getting her very own cruise hosting gig. From August 12 through August 19, Gosselin will be the master of ceremonies for Royal Caribbean’s “Sail With Kate!” cruise, aboard their luxe Allure of the Seas cruise ship, with a capacity of 5,400. Gosselin’s cruise will jaunt from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, to Labadee, Haiti, to Falmouth, Jamaica, and finally to Cozumel, Mexico.
“Pls don’t miss it!” Gosselin recently tweeted. “I’m getting all teary eyed hoping2meet so many of u in 1 place!”
Aboard the ship, Gosselin will host a welcome cocktail party, an optional charity dinner, and a private BBQ on-deck with an unnamed “fabulous band.” “Sail with Kate!” participants will also get to play “fun fun family games” with Gosselin—the extra ‘fun’ was added by Royal Caribbean, not me—and will be able to ask the “Dancing with the Stars” mama whatever they wish during a Q+A session. Perhaps best of all? Each cruise-goer will receive a personal photo with Gosselin as well as a “commemorative personalized gift from Kate.” Strike that—the latter is only “one per family.”
Should anyone on the cruise feel themselves Gosselin-ed out, they are free to explore other areas of the boat, too. They can check out a production of “Chicago” in the main theater, or hang out with Shrek and Po the Panda for the “Dream Works experience.” Oh, and did I mention that this ship features the very first “Starbucks at Sea”?!?!?
The cheapest package is $1900 per person for a 179-square-foot room. Prices range all the way up to $3175 per person for a Junior Suite.
While the cruise does also advertise that participants will get to “learn a new craft from Kate,” they do not specify if it will be coupon-clipping. (Gosselin recently started a gig blogging for CouponCabin.com.) Or maybe the craft will be creative self-haircutting?
