The dress may be gone, but your heart will go on, right? At a recent Hollywood auction, actress Kate Winslet‘s stunning black-and-red beaded dress sold for a whopping $330,000. The dress is featured in some of the most memorable scenes in Titanic, like the moment when star-crossed lovers Jack and Rose first meet. The dress, which was designed by costumer Deborah L Scott, supposedly took more than 1,000 hours to sew.

Other high-grossing auction items included Orlando Bloom’s “Legolas Bow” from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and an X-Wing model from the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope.

Celine Dion admits that “My Heart Will Go On” kind of makes her sick, too

Celine Dion and Kate Winslet

“‘My Heart Will Go On’ gave me the opportunity to be associated with a classic that will live forever. If I just count how many times I’ve sung it, maybe it’ll get me sick. If [Kate Winslet] feels tired just hearing it and like throwing up, I’m glad she was not the one singing it.”

—Celine Dion responds, kind of hilariously, to Kate Winslet’s comments back in March that the singer’s ubiquitous tune makes her “feel like throwing up” and incites her to give “a massive internal eye roll.” [Today]

Kate Flashback: Ellen DeGeneres joins Kate Winslet in ‘Titanic 3D’ nude scene

James Cameron has said that he only made a single change to “Titanic 3D” from the original cut of the film released in 1997. Apparently, after an astrophysicist pointed out that the nighttime sky depicted above Kate Winslet as she floats in the water was nowhere near what it would have been on April 15, 1912, Cameron decided to redo the constellations in the scene. However, earlier this week Ellen DeGeneres shared a video of what could have been had Cameron decided to reinsert her in her rightful role as the artist who painted Winslet nude alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

Yeah, Ellen is kidding. But the result is pretty darn funny.

Kate Winslet calls Leonardo DiCaprio ‘fatter,’ says son won’t be shocked by her ‘Titanic 3D’ nude scene

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio

The glorious Kate Winslet always tells it like it is. Last week, she lobbed a true-but-harsh insult at Celine Dion. And yesterday, she made a comment about the release of “Titanic 3D” that can’t have made Leonardo DiCaprio feel too good looking in the mirror.

“We do look very different, we’re older. Leo’s 37, I’m 36,” said Winslet speaking to Kate Garraway of the UK morning show “Daybreak.” “We were 21 and 22 when we made that film. You know, he’s fatter now — I’m thinner. It’s true though!”

While it’s not the kindest thing she’s ever said, I think she’s semi-justified.

Kate Winslet hates “My Heart Will Go On”

Kate WInslet and Titanic 3D

“Like throwing up. No, I shouldn’t say that. No, I actually do feel like throwing up. I wish I could say, ‘Oh listen everybody! It’s that Celine Dion song!’ But I don’t. I just have to sit there, you know, kind of straight-faced with a massive internal eye roll.”

Kate Winslet admits how she feels hearing Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” from “Titanic,” which is being re-released in 3D this month. Can’t say that I disagree, Kate. That song is truly grating. Such canned emotion. [MTV.com]

Kate Winslet rocks the ‘Titanic 3D’ premiere, releases her book, and talks about that Necker Island fire

Kate Winslet at Kate Winslet has had a big week. First, she released her book, The Golden Hat: Talking Back to Autism, for which she got celebrities like George Clooney, Anna Wintour, Christina Aguilera, Demi Moore, Ellen Page, Javier Bardem, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Julianne Moore, Jude Law, Ben Stiller, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Meryl Streep, Peter Sarsgaard, and Ricky Gervais to pose with a hat to raise awareness of autism.

“Even I can’t believe it,” Winslet says to USA Today, flipping through the pages of the tome. “The truth is, I don’t really know these people. They’re not my friends. I am just like everyone else … I don’t really know that many famous people, that’s not my life … It really was a case of bribing people for phone numbers.”

Winslet no doubt got Kelly Ripa’s phone number after the two sat down for a chat on Monday during “Live! With Kelly.”

Kate Winslet’s very mixed reaction to the upcoming release of “Titanic 3-D”

Titanic movie posterKate Winslet is in many ways pumped about the release of “Titanic 3-D”—and is in many ways terrified of it.

“I do feel very excited about it,” Winslet tells USA Today. “[My children] Mia and Joe still have not seen it. So it is very exciting that I can actually sit with them and we can all watch it together in a movie theater. That is going to be quite amazing, actually.”

As Winslet recently said, she knows there is a whole generation of kids out there conceived after their parents went on a date to see the 1997 film.

Still, Winslet is not 100% enthusiastic about the 3-D release, as she knows she will be highly critical of her performance, given when she was just 21-years-old.

“I wasn’t really a very good actress. Seriously, we are talking about something that happened 15 years ago,” Winslet explains. “I’ve learned so much, and I’ve changed as a person so much since then.”

In fact, Winslet reveals that she had a full-scale freakout upon seeing a 17 minute preview of the 3-D version of the film.

Kate Winslet recognizes the generation conceived during “Titanic” dates

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio in "Titanic"

In 1997, Kate Winslet starred in the James Cameron epic “Titanic” opposite one fresh-faced Leonardo DiCaprio. Now, the heart-string tugging love story is set for re-release on April 6—in 3D, naturally. This has Winslet thinking a whole lot about the movie that made her an overnight superstar when she was just 22-years-old.

“I would really find it hard being as famous as I was so immediately when ‘Titanic’ came out,” Winslet told Styleist this week. “If that was happening today, I really don’t know how I would cope because there’s so much media exposure and so much scrutiny. I mean, there was back then, but now it’s just a little out of control.”

Even more interesting? Winslet recognizes the fact that many a baby was probably conceived after a couple saw the “I’m the king of the world” classic.
