Happy Memorial Day weekend! You know what this means: it’s finally appropriate to wear white again.
I myself rarely wear white, as living in New York taught me there’s always going to be something dripping/splashing/lurking on a seat for you to sit on. In any event, it’s the start of summer, and for me, that means saying goodbye to my favorite characters from regular TV series. We do still have various reality shows to keep us entertained during the muggy nights when we actually long for a snow day, but when it comes to our beloved fictional characters, I’m going to need a moment to mourn the upcoming absence of three of my favorites.
Troy and Abed of “Community”
If “Community” really does get canceled next season, I have this pipe dream that Troy and Abed will go on to star in an actual version of their “Troy and Abed in the Morning” show. I don’t even need a whole show—just 15 minutes every morning of these two sipping empty coffee mugs, with Troy nailing that practiced exuberance of morning show hosts, and Abed deadpanning because he’s Abed and he has no other way of panning.
