Scarlett Johansson is not a big fan of her nickname, ScarJo or alternately ScoJo. For some reason, she is taking it out on our dear Cate Blanchett.
“Oh, it’s awful,” Johansson complains to USA Today. “It’s a laziness. People can’t actually say the whole name? It’s just bizarre … Cate Blanchett is not, like, ‘CaBla?’ Why do I have to get stuck?”
Why? Because CaBla just doesn’t roll of the tongue. In fact, when said out loud, it just sort of sounds like you are saying the word ‘cable’ with a bizarre accent.
Luckily, Johansson does see one silver lining with her nickname. It helps her decide if someone is yelling her name on the street because they are a friend, or because they are a fan lacking in the manners department.
“If I hear somebody say [ScarJo], I know I don’t know them at all,” she explained.
