Retro songstress Kate Nash and her boyfriend Ryan Jarman, of the band The Cribs, had a very busy day. The two recorded a cover of the Wham! holiday classic, “Last Christmas,” in their garage, along with Jarman’s brother Ross, and uploaded the track to YouTube. Think of it as a combination Christmas gift and toast to George Michael, who just checked out of the hospital after a nasty bought of pneumonia saying, “I’m still very weak, but I feel amazing … I’m lucky to be alive.”
Nash, who I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing before, is currently working on her third album. Meanwhile, The Cribs are in the studio too, recording a record with legendary producer Steve Albini.
All this goes to say: this year, give it someone special.
