Kate Gosselin to look for love on a reality TV show

Emily Maynard, a single mother of one, had a tough go of it on “The Bachelorette”this season, with one contestant leaving after saying that her having a child was a “compromise” and another being dramatically thrown out after he called her daughter “baggage.” So I’m really wondering how Kate Gosselin, a single mother of eight, would fair in a reality TV search for love.

According to E! Online, Gosselin has signed on for a reality TV dating show and is currently shopping the series to networks. “She is ready to get back into the dating game,” a source tells the site. “She is ready to find love again and to move on from her past. She’s excited, this is a chance to start something new.”

Gosselin first landed on the television landscape in the reality series “Jon and Kate Plus 8,” first on Discovery Health and later on TLC. The show followed Kate and her now ex-husband Gosselin as they raised their eight children—sextuplets plus a previous a pair of twins. With a hedgehog-like haircut and a stern tone, Gosselin quickly became a villain of sorts, the audience sympathizing with soft-spoken and laid-back Jon.

That all changed, however, in 2009 when the Gosselins announced that they were separating. Soon after, the couple’s nanny alleged that she had an affair with Jon. And then came Kate Major, Hailey Glassman and a slew of Ed Hardy shirts. All of a sudden, public sympathy was firmly with Kate.

Ever since, she has grown out her hair, toned up her body, and seemed more and more likeable with every TV interview and “Dancing with the Stars” jig. Now, people actually might be interested in seeing her find a new partner.

“She finds it hard to meet men in her day to day life,” the source explains to E!. “So a dating show will give her exactly the help she needs. She is willing to travel around the country in order to meet Mr. Right.”

And so we’ll see if any bachelors out there are interested in going from zero to eight kids in a matter of months.
